SendLabs New Features: Automatic Headers and Footers
Brett
Brett Houle
Product Development/Marketing

We used to leave it up to you, our dear user, to craft an email header and footer above and below your creative. A what you say?

Email Header:
We're talking about that bit of real estate we all know is a best practice that sits right above your creative email. It will look like this:

Can't see graphics? View this email in your browser

Ensure our emails reach your inbox - add thecrew@sendlabs.com to your address book. (?)

The header accomplishes two things you'll love:

1) It includes a link to a web version of your email - a necessity for those with images disabled or for Lotus Notes recipients. And now - you no longer have to even create a web version! Our system will create a web copy and host it for you! (more free time for you :)

2) It also creates a standard "add me to your address book" message. This is designed to get the user to "whitelist" your sending address so your emails don't end up in their junk folder. (good stuff - yey!)

Email Footer:
This is that bit of space at the bottom of the email that housed your subscribe/unsubscribe message and unsubscribe link in. Many of our users felt it was a bit of a pain to add the unsubscribe tag each time to an emailand re-insert their physical address (part of CAN-SPAM).

From today forward, you will notice a "standard footer" appended to the bottom of your email creative. And for the design freaks - you can also set its positioning as left aligned or center aligned to make sure it doesn't interfere with your email design. (how cool is that)

The footer accomplishes a few things you'll love:
1) It auto-inserts your "opt-out" link. No more inserting a merge tag into your email. It's added automatically.
2) It auto-populates the recipients email address - identifying them is a good thing.
3) It auto-populates your CAN-SPAM require physical address.
4) You can place it left or center justified to make our entire email campaign look pretty!

Here's what it looks like:

Of course, we also give you the flexibility to create your very own headers and footers. Completely custom to your requirements. SendLabs supplies tags to insert that will automatically generate an unsubscribe link, view online link and CAN-SPAM information.
