Email Marketing: Why us? Why not?
Josh

Business Development

Entrepreneurs are great, aren’t they? Think about it. Whatever the world’s first business was (apple picking?), there was someone else that thought they could do it better. And as businesses grew, more and more people thought they could do those better and on and on. Years later, we can drive down the street and have options for nearly everything. Burgers? Take your pick. New car? Not a problem. Toupees? Sure!

Email marketing is no different. It’s a freakin’ $9 billion industry and there are plenty of companies that offer the services that we do. As anyone looking for a company like ours might ask, “Why you?”

Well, here’s the pitch:

We’re not rich. Seriously, I drive a Camry. One of the owners wears the same shirt twice a week. Our deliverability expert still likes store brands over brand names. That’s not to say we don’t do well here at SendLabs, but we are looking to achieve our dreams which will, in large part, be tied to the success of our business. A major equation in making that happen is attracting new business and making sure our current crop is happy and satisfied. This would lead to my second point…

We like you and want to understand you. We really do! Not to get too touchy-feely, but I like the fact that our clients know our people by name. It’s great that we can partner up with some of the people we do, making their expectations a reality and in turn, making their lives better off because of it. Today, I contacted a potential partner and got a call back, thanking me for taking time to research their company and offer up some specific thoughts in a reply email. I had a mini-epiphany after that. It’d be ridiculous for me to sit here and say I’d turn down a client base of 20,000 companies, but there’s something to be said for being able to speak in-depth with your clients about what they’re trying to accomplish and actually take a vested interest in it. Even if that afore-mentioned person chooses not to go with SendLabs, at least I know a bit about a new company and hopefully, helped them make the right decision.

Numbers are great, but I think results are better.

Our software works just as good. The old saying, “Bigger is better”? Archaic. Bring on your deployments of all sizes and scopes. We’ll take them and then some.

We have the drive to be better. One of the most invigorating parts of being in this space is seeing opportunity and then, taking a crack at it. In building our hosted email software (now in our 5th version), we saw that other companies’ offerings were clunky and forced others to conform to the software and not the other way around. Through SendLabs, we are ready to do a full-on rollout of an online newsletter application in addition to some other user-friendly offerings down the road. One of the benefits of being smaller is that all of us are in the software all the time, so we’re constantly thinking about how to make it better. Listening to your clients’ thoughts is also a great way to improve (what a concept!). In short, striving for your goals make you want to better. SendLabs wants to be better and most importantly, we want YOU to be better.

We are Brett, Mike, Steve, Tony, Thomas, Susan, myself and the two interns, Josh and John. We are SendLabs and we want to handle your email marketing.

(How’d I do?)

Email Marketing; There's Something (Wrong) About Outlook 2007
If you are a graphic designer/creative person or someone who designs and/or codes HTML email, you may hate me after you read this entry. I’m really a nice guy though, so please hate the message, not the messenger. Thanks to Microsoft, a big change has impacted how your emails look and you need to make some adjustments, lest you not live up to your company billing as (insert name here), email marketing rock star.

Email Marketing: Is Pizza Hut Delivering Great Email?
In 2006 alone, Pizza Hut brought in over $9.3 billion in sales, almost doubling the second-place finisher, Domino's. You see their TV ads and you see their flyers in your mailbox every few months. They spend a lot of money in branding themselves a certain way and take great care in their image. So why isn't their email given the proper care?

Top 11 New Year's Email Marketing Resolutions - 2007
Great. Another list, right? Yep. But hopefully this one will make you lots of money or even get you a promotion (which may actually have you check off a few of your own resolutions!). P.S. We just couldn’t stop at 10. We tried. We think #11 is the strongest (and our favorite) email marketing resolution of all for the New Year. Happy Email Marketing in ’07! The Crew at SendLabs
