Email Marketing: Tuesday Afternoon Inspiration

This email marketing blog was created and formerly maintained by our company co-founder Brett. He doesn't post much anymore, but when he gets passionate about something, he will tell you. So when the big boss says, "I love this video. Post on the blog ASAP", you have to listen.

I'll be damned if I don't agree with him.

This five-minute video is courtesy of Monday9amtv.com and features SendLabs 2008 Person-Dude of The Year Seth Godin. However, the subject isn't purple cows, sneezers or ideaviruses. It's about a simple question: curiosity. Great job to filmmaker/site owner Nic Askew, who has enticed me to check out this site more often.

And from Brett: "7,10,15 years of schooling and you are required NOT to be curious...and people become safe zombies despite a lot of effort by a lot of people to be non-curious. Love it."

Well, there you go. Ladies and gents, here is Seth Godin and Nic on 'Curiosity'. Enjoy.

Email Marketing: 16 reasons not to paste and blast emails from Outlook
This one seems to come up often with smaller businesses or email marketing newbies. I thought I'd give you some food for thought as to why pasting code into Microsoft Outlook and blasting is not such a good idea for your company, its brand or your sanity. I vow to post three new reasons a day until I run out. (Hint: maybe there are a lot of them).

Email Marketing: Yahoo's role in the rise of email authentication
E-mail authentication is on the rise, and much of the credit goes to Yahoo. Yahoo, with 260 million email accounts - the single largest still, originally came up with the idea of authenticating e-mail at the domain level, rather than at the IP address level. Yahoo dubbed this concept DomainKeys...
