At times, I feel like a parent trying to explain why using best practices with email marketing is...well...the best thing. No, don't touch that rented email list. Oops, be careful of that email template layout. You sent to people that already unsubscribed fom your list? You're grounded!
One of the offerings SendLabs has in the ol' bag of tricks is helping to improve your Sender Score, essentially the rating of what you're like as an email marketer. The higher the number, the most trusted you are as a sender, meaning more of your emails are getting through to the inbox. Imagine you're pulling up to the toll booth and because your car is well-maintained, you can zip right through because the toll booth attendant knows all about you. And similar to a car, you get a fine-tuned email marketing machine by putting work into it. There's no easy way to do it - you have to earn it.
Thanks to fellow email marketer Dylan Boyd for finding this page on Comcast's site on what Sender Score truly can mean. As you know, Comcast is an ISP and can limit how many emails in a campaign get through at once. As you'll see, the higher the score, the more emails get through. ISPs usually don't pull back the curtain like this, but if you're a responsible email marketer using a top-notch ESP like SendLabs, this is great information to know. If your score is low, there are ways to improve it but there's no quick fix. Best practices, friends...best practices!
So what's your Sender Score? Ask us how to improve it!
